In support of the Ukrainian people and the country that is heroically resisting Russian aggression, the members of the Alliance of Real Estate Developers (NĪAA) express solidarity with the people of Ukraine and provide both symbolic support by displaying Ukrainian flags at commercial properties in Riga and Latvia, and practical support by donating funds and providing necessary workplaces for Ukrainian refugees in Latvia.


 
To help the people of Ukraine and the country's defenders in this difficult time, NĪAA members are donating as much as they can via the charity organisation ziedot.lv, and are encouraging employees of the companies to do the same. The funds raised on ziedot.lv are donated where they are most needed. Fuel and first aid supplies are already being sent to Ukraine in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence. In addition, the members of the NĪAA are committed to employ Ukrainian refugees as soon as the need arises. This includes both development and construction work, enabling people to make a living in their new host country.
 
At the same time, as a symbolic gesture of support to the people of Ukraine, the members of the NĪAA display Ukrainian national flags at their properties, thus supporting the initiative launched by the Mayor of Riga Mārtiņš Staķis to display Ukrainian national flags at municipal buildings. "Every form of support - both practical and symbolic - is now important to show the Ukrainian people that they have a wide range of supporters in every country. Ukrainians themselves say that what is important to them at this moment is not only practical support, but also symbolic support, such as displaying flags and spreading truthful information about what is happening in Ukraine. By displaying the first 40 Ukrainian flags at commercial properties in Riga and elsewhere in Latvia, we show a united stand against Russian aggression in Ukraine. We invite every landlord in Latvia to join us and display the Ukrainian flag on their buildings!" Mārtiņš Vanags, Chairman of the Board of the Alliance of Real Estate Developers (NĪAA).
